Bernadi Desanda (Bebrain)
Bernandi Desanda, or Berbrain, born 1996 in Tangerang (South Tangerang), Indonesia is a rising Indonesian painter working out of Yogyakarta. A graduate of the Indonesian Institute of The Arts, he channels his fascination with animals, monsters, and pop culture into richly colored, imaginative compositions, each piece a playful yet surreal creation of a “new species.” His work has been shown internationally, including in Thailand, the US, Europe, and across Asia.
Recent highlights: Solo show “Failure as Fuel: On Berbrain’s Embrace of the Uncertain” (2025) at Tang Contemporary Art, Bangkok, and participation in “Butterfly Eyes” group exhibition at the same gallery in 202
